What is Camp for All?
Camp for All is a camp designed to accommodate children with disabilities. Accommodations include a/c cabins, concrete walking and rolling paths, a large greeting hall, covered basketball/sports court, ROPES course, 2 fishing ponds, outdoor swimming pool with water park features, arts and crafts center, horse barn, shooting range, and an accessible treehouse.

What is included in my registration fee?
An inclusive registration fee includes

–  CEUs
–  Special certifications
–  Lodging [Air Conditioned Cabins]
–  Meals and Snacks throughout the day

Why is the TR Summit hosted at Camp for All?
Camp for All offers a unique setting where recreation and leisure professionals can gather to experience a wide variety of professional development sessions in a vast variety of environments.

 

Does Camp for All meet special needs?
Yes, it is accessible to visitors with special needs, as well as those with dietary needs.

 

When was the first TR Summit?
The first TR Summit was held in 1995 at Southwest Texas State University. The conference began at Camp for All in 2002.

 

Who coordinates the TR Summit?
Dr. Jackie Vaughn has coordinated the TR Summit since its conception with the assistance of the TR Summit Planning Committee and the TRAPS TR Branch.

 

Who can attend the TR Summit?
Attendees are typically fro the profession of recreation and leisure, but health care providers and community programmers from associated professions also attend.

 

How many professionals attend the TR Summit?
Between 75 and 125 attendees, annually register for the TR Summit.

 

How long is the TR Summit?
The TR Summit is usually 3 days long.

 

When is the TR Summit?
The TR Summit is usually held on the 3rd or 4th week of Augst from Tuesday evening to Friday at noon.

 

How many CEUs are awarded?
Typically up to 2.2 CEU [22 contact hours] can be awarded for attending the entire conference. CEUs are provided by TRAPS, an IACET accredited provider.

Speakers from all over the United States participate in the conference. Speakers demonstrate an expertise /knowledge base/ certification in the area in which they are presenting.

 

How long are the sessions?
The sessions are 2 hours.

 

Can I speak at the TR Summit?
Yes, speakers are welcome to submit proposals from February to May.

 

How much does the TR Summit cost?
Fees are based on the cost of hosting the conference but are typically around $350.

 

What does the registration fee include?
Conference registration, CEUs, parking, lodging at the camp, meals, and snacks.

How do I register for the TR Summit?
Registration opens in June and can be found on the TRAPS website. There is an early bird registration, so be sure to secure your space early.

 

What do I need to bring to the TR Summit? 
Be prepared to bring sheets, blankets, pillows, and comfortable/active wear.

 

What is the closest airport to the TR Summit? 
Houston International or Austin Bergstrom are the closest airports to our conference.
